I have been working with DaVinci Resolve for some time now, and I must say it has completely changed my video world. Media management, transcoding, timeline editing, animation, effects, colour grading... it seems to do just about everything. Furthermore, it's changed how I teach video, since it lowers the bar of entry to a professional-level feature set. When I recommend it to artists, it blows their minds. When I teach it to my students, they are empowered to do their best work.
However, like other professional video applications, Resolve is complex. I have a series of tutorials ready for publication, and will use this page as a launch pad for these videos.

The DaVinci Resolve Computer Buyer's Guide compiles everything you need to know about specifying a computer to effectively run Resolve. It's focused on building an efficient desktop system, but there's practical laptop advice as well. Download the PDF.
DaVinci Resolve Performance Tuning tells you how to get the most out of the computer you already own. Even if it's well under the recommended specification, you might be able to perform miracles. Download the PDF and watch the companion video.
No doubt there will be debate about some of the specifics in these articles. I welcome comments and corrections in the comments section. I do plan on keeping these documents up-to-date.
