I'll be in Cork again this weekend for the Days On End Festival, a new venture that brings experimental music, fun social interaction and a rather chaotic aesthetic to the city. I think it's going to be fantastic!
Last September I was one of many contributors to a 24-hour Endless Drone session, which took place, like the current festival, in Sample Studios. This is an arts space associated with TACTIC, located downtown in the former FAS Building on Sullivan's Quay. (That's where these photos come from.)
Dan Guiney has invited me back to play in this year's incarnation, now called "On". It starts at 1pm on Saturday and continues through to the same time Sunday. Last year I showed up the quiet hours near the end of the session, which was nice! So by all means drop by Sunday morning if Saturday night doesn't suit.
But the festival actually starts on Friday, when The Quiet Club occupy the Roundy. This is followed by a Stet Lab session and then proceedings move to the Triskel for a concert with The Bridges of Madison County (and guests). You can do the whole night for a fiver (tickets at Plug'd). Saturday during the day there's a workshop on instrument building - always fun! Please check out the festival website for full details.
I'll be around for the full weekend, ending with a Sunday meal at The Guesthouse. If you see me, say hi.
