60x60 Canada Mix in Vancouver

If you happen to be in Vancouver, British Columbia you can drop by the Creative Hub, tomorrow 21 October at 7:00 PM to hear the 60x60 Canada Mix, which includes my piece "After Keem". If you live on the other side of the country you can visit the Suncor Energy Hall, St John's, Newfoundland on 8 November 2012.

Listen and download the track using the SoundCloud player above. Read on for more details and a second composition.

I previously mentioned that I had submitted work for this year's 60x60 project, and now I can report on my success. In their own words "60x60 is a one-hour music extravaganza featuring one-minute slices of new music". Sixty composers each get sixty seconds and the results are run without pause. Robert Voisey set up the project to promote the maximum variety of music to the greatest number of listeners. As its grown various curators have become involved to manage the increasing number of mixes.

This year I submitted in two categories, the Canada Mix (as mentioned above) and the Europe Mix. This second composition, "Spinward And Falling", was also a success, being selected for the 60x60 Radio Request Extravaganza, an event of WGDR 91.1 FM, Plainfield, Vermont that started 24 August 2012 but went right into the next day.

Both of my pieces are hosted on SoundCloud and are available for download. If you'd like to say thanks, you can buy me a coffee using the PayPal donation button in the sidebar of this blog. That would be lovely!
